Can obesity cause uremia?

Obesity not only leads to some loss of personal image, but also leads to some problems in our health. For example, some people will think that obesity can lead to uremia, then whether obesity will cause uremia?

Obesity can cause kidney disease. Obesity associated nephropathy is now classified as a disease of obesity associated with glomerular hypertrophy or associated renal changes such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. According to the pathological characteristics of the light microscope showed simple glomerular hypertrophy, known as obesity related glomerular hypertrophy, glomerular hypertrophy and the focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is called obesity related focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.

The earliest clinical symptom of obesity related nephropathy is microalbuminuria, and later urine protein can gradually increase to a large number of proteinuria, and some can be accompanied by microscopic glomerular hematuria. In general, obesity associated glomerular hypertrophy is characterized by microalbuminuria and large proteinuria, and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in obesity is often characterized by moderate to large proteinuria.

The general situation of blood in patients with obesity related glomerular hypertrophy were more in the normal range, obesity related focal segmental glomerular sclerosis in patients with serum creatinine can be gradually increased, and slow progress, which could eventually lead to uremia. Therefore, obesity, if not controlled, will lead to obesity related nephropathy and eventually lead to uremia. Weight control is the key to improving and reducing obesity related kidney disease.
